Regardless of our love for traveling, there is no problem being home when we get to hang out on our roof every evening. Here are just a few shots from yesterday’s rooftop time at our wonderful home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Casa de Los Colibries, the name we’ve given to our place after seeing all the humming birds flitting around our garden, is a wonderfully peaceful sanctuary here in San Miguel, and never has being home been so good. The 360′ views are endless. Looking west from the roof we can see for miles over the golf course, and almost every night there is a sunset to gaze at as we sip our wine. East, over the neighbourhood, are the nearby hills that lead to the canyon that dissects the botanical gardens. South affords a distant view over the downtown area, where the magical parroquia cathedral towers over the surrounding buildings (picture to follow), and to the north…well, that’s the neighbours rooftop.
To have a home-base like this means that whenever the inevitably sad moment arrives towards the end of a trip, we just have to remember what we’re coming home to.
Not too shabby.
