So many things have happened to Leslie and I in the last 12 months, and they’ve all been amazing. Three books published between us. A TV show appearance. We bought a house…in Mexico. Loads of traveling…ten countries. So many happy memories and life events.
But there is one special occasion that sticks out for me, especially because it was something I never thought I’d do!!
I got engaged.
Yep, Leslie and I got engaged during my 40th birthday celebrations in Bali last year. We’d kind of planned it for a while, but with my mum and brother and many friends along in Bali for the party, it seemed like the perfect time to announce it. Okay, so there was no big proposal…but it was still lovely anyway.
Like I said, getting married was never a high priority on my to do list, but as the saying goes; when you know, you know!!
And in Leslie I know I have met someone to spend the rest of my life with. Now, I’m not going to list a whole load of slushy things about the whys and wherefores of how she is so amazing, but I’ll just say this…I’m so, so lucky to have Leslie in my life, and the last almost four years have been the most amazing of my life so far. And with Leslie by my side, I know the years are just going to get better and better.
After Bali, we moved to Paris…one of Leslie’s dreams. While in Paris it just happened to be Valentine’s Day, closely followed by her birthday…and when I say closely followed, I mean the very next day. At least I could never forget the date, could I? So when in Paris on Valentine’s, what better place to be for a spot of engagement ring shopping than that most sophisticated of neighborhoods, St. Germain.
Of course, once the ring was purchased, a 1920’s art deco of white gold, platinum and diamonds, I had to whisk my love up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and show both the ring and Leslie off to the world.
Who said romance was dead?
This post is dedicated to the love of my life.
For my wonderfully spirited, warm hearted, beautiful inside and out,
and super talented and funny fiancée, Leslie ‘soon to be Mrs. Moore’
Wait, so that’s Les Moore…Less More? More or Less?
For my darling…
I love you very much!
Thanks for making me the happiest man alive X X X X
How will you spend your Valentine’s Day this year? Leslie and I are in Daegu, South Korea right now, and though it’s hardly Paris, we do have some fun and romantic events planned. Sshh, though, one or two are surprises for the better half. Cheers!!
